Kristen Myers RN, BSN, MPH, CIC
Infection prevention and control is grounded in evidence-based research and functions according to rigorous methods and standards of practice. Kristen started Method in response to the need for better infection control practices in healthcare settings, outpatient settings, and communities. She is a registered nurse and is board certified in infection control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology. She has experience in acute care, long-term care, home health care, employee health, infection control, and public health.
Kristen has a master's degree in public health from Des Moines University and she is currently pursuing a master's degree in nursing education from Graceland University. In addition to consulting, she works periodically as an infection preventionist and medical/surgical staff nurse for a critical access hospital in central Iowa. She is also an adjunct instructor for the nursing program at Mercy College of Health Sciences and DMACC. She serves on the board of directors and executive committee for the non-profit organization, Empower Tanzania, Inc. She is a member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology (APIC), the Association for periOperative Nurses (AORN), and the National Nurses in Business Association (NNBA).
